Taxonomic remark Some of the recent authors (Achatz et al. 2021c; Tkach et al. 2018, 2020) pointed out that members of those subfamilies lack consistent differentiating morphological features. Based on these arguments and for the stability of the classification system, we do not recognize subfamilies of the Cyathocotylidae here and abandon the subfamily-based classification system of the family. [details]
