Etymology Acromegalomma scutolenis is named (fide authors) with a compound formed by the terms “scutum” = shields + “lenis” = smooth, referring to the smooth ventral shields, without ornamentations of any type, such as ciliary patches or fissures. The latin adjective 'lenis' has a usual meaning of soft. It is unclear if it should be modified for agreement with neuter genus Acromegalomma. Possibly the ending should be 'lene' [details]
