The anatomy of an insufficiently described species of heteronemertine, Micrura aurantiaca (Grube, 1855), is redescribed and the species is transferred to the new genus Leucocephalonemertes. The species is characterized, by inter alia, a proboscis with three muscle layers and one muscle cross, about eight pairs of efferent ducts in the excretory system and a thin inner longitudinal muscle layer. The taxon is compared with two other Micrura species, M. fasciolata Ehrenberg, 1831 and M. purpurea (Dalyell, 1853).
