From the introduction: "During the summer of 1902 I went again to the Dry Tortugas, Florida, in charge of an expedition under the auspices of the Museum of the Brooklyn Institute of Arts and Sciences, and obtained hundreds of the worms [Eunice fucata, previously as Staurocephalus gregaricus Mayer] in all stages of growth.
