Taxonomy name adopted by various authors to become 'ascendens' from Levinsen's inclusion of a variety name 'ascendentis' in the figure captions of his plates for specimens apparently of Spirorbis spirillum but with 'ascending', that is expanded tubes. Status uncertain. [details]
