Neotype Scripps SIO-BIC A4070, Sagami Bay, on Anneissia japonica. According to Rouse et al (2016), as two species of Mesomyzostoma are present in A. japonica from the type locality of Sagami Bay, designation of a neotype was necessary. The second species is Mesomyzostoma okadai [details]
Type locality Neotype from Sagami Bay, Japan, 35.1577° 139.612° (35°09.46ʹ N, 139°36.72ʹ E), 10–15 m deep, in Anneissia japonica (Müller 1841) (Comatulidae). [details]
