Etymology The specific epithet southwardorum honors Drs. Eve C. and Alan J. Southward, deep sea biologists of the Plymouth laboratory, United Kingdom. ''The Southwards participated in the collection of this species and provided field observations'' (Blake & Maciolek, 1992: 729). [details]
Habitat Soft sediments at bathyal depths, in hydrothermal vent areas. [details]
