Homonymy preoccupied by Hydroides rostrata Iroso, 1921, a nov. nom. for Eupomatus uncinatus non Philippi, Ehlers, 1887, and a junior objective synonym of Hydroides floridanus (Bush, 1910). Name replaced by Hydroides gottfriedi Read, ten Hove, Sun & Kupriyanova, 2017 [details]
Nomenclature The original and correct spelling is rostrata , but the name has incorrectly been given the masculine ending (rectus) as well. [details]
Type locality Pillai noted types were collected at both Hikkaduwa and Wellawatte, Sri Lanka. These localities are separated by some considerable distance, but the holotype at NHM, 1968-148, is from Hikkaduwa, approx (gazetteer) 6.1324 80.1000 [details]
