Taxonomy A description of specimens originally informally reported by Okuda (1938) as Pectinaria (Cistenides) sp. Imajima & Hartman (1964) annotate the name as 'new name' rather than new species, but as Okuda never named the species it is simply a new species. Subsequently referred to genus Pectinaria by Kitamori (1965) and Nishi et al. (2012) [details]
