Habitat Protomyzostomum glanduliferum myzostomids are endoparasitic, generally living in the peristomal coelomic cavity above the jaws or above the basal vertebral ossicles of the Ophiacantha disjuncta brittle stars (currently a synonym of Ophiodiplax antarctica (Koehler, 1900)). In the latter place, the myzostomids are adjacent to but not in the bursae. The venter of the worms are directed towards the stomach wall. In ten of the ophiuroids, myzostomids are present in the dorsal coelomic cavity, between the connective strands. Again, the venter of the worm is directed towards the stomach wall [details]
