Taxonomic remark Current taxon was previously considered in the WoRMS database to be a junior synonym of Lysidice collaris Grube, 1868, based on Augener (1922a: 40-41). Augener (1922b: 28-29) had revised specimens from Australia previously identified by Kinberg as Lysidice robusta, and considered that, in spite of the inadequacy of Stimpson's original description, that they could represent the same species. [ "I now consider L. collaris Gr. to be the same species as Kinberg's robusta, as I do not consider it correct to attach any value to the presence or absence of the white neck segment alone for species separation. . . . From southwest Australia it is reported as L. collaris, thus distributed around Australia." (translated from German to English with Google Translate) ]. So, what Augener seems to state is that the previous Australian records of Lysidice gracilis and the specimens from the same region identified by Kinberg as L. robusta represent all the same species, probably the one originally described by Stimpson as L. robusta[details]
