Etymology Eunice siphoninsidiator is named from Latin ‘siphon-’ meaning ‘tube’ or ‘pipe’ and ‘insidiator’ meaning ‘ambusher’. Stated to be a noun in apposition not an adjective. This is in reference to the suspected behavior of the species as ambush predator living within tubular structure of glass sponges. [details]

Authority In the selective authorship of the species name four of six authors are included, with one Zhang omitted. The article authorship is Zhou, R Zhang, Shen, Mao, M Zhang & D Zhang. It is not possible to determine which of the three Zhang are to be recorded as species authors should the necessity arise. It appears this issue did not occur to the authors. Authorship is not commented on in the text.
