replacement name for Triton tortuosus Reeve, 1844, considered to be Tritonium distortum (Reeve, 1844) by Cossmann, 1903, a secondairy homonym of Tritonium distortum (Brocchi, 1814) [Bronn, 1828: 533]. The latter was described as Murex distortus Brocchi, 1814, now considered to be Monoplex distortus (Brocchi, 1814). So Reeve's name is not congeneric anymore and should be used [ICZN Art. 59.3]
