Remark According to H.L. Clark (1921), syntypes initially in Natural History Museum, London (England) but apparently lost; according to Rowe & Gates (1995) possibly 2 syntypes in Natural History Museum, London (England) 1938.6.13.18-19. Type locality: west coast of Columbia (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
In Clark & Rowe (1971) placed in family Echinasteridae, and discuss improbability of Columbia being the type locality. [details]
