Editor's comment Further checking of literature needed. If Sabellides elongatus is an Ampharete then Neosabellides is a junior synonym of Ampharete, as S elongatus is the type of Neosabellides. There appears to be uncertainty over the junior synonyms of Ampharete. Stiller et al (2020) treated Neosabellides elongatus as the then current combination, and it appears distinct from the Ampharete species in their data set. [details]
