Taxonomy Dunker (1867:106) re-used the name introduced by Martini (1777 - Unavailable as non-binominal) in part, yet in the combination as listed by Schröter (1778 - Unavailable as names list of non-binominal work) and recombined it in the genus which was generally accepted at the time. He did hopwever make a small writing mistake. Paetel (1887:221) listed - for his collection - the same name as Dunker, including the spelling mistake.
Cernohorsky (1972:110) listed "latesulcatum, latescens and picta of Hanley, 1860" (fide Cernohorsky) correctly as synonyms for Tonna allium (Dillwyn, 1817) despite the incorrect authority reference. [details]
