Taxonomy Petit (2009: 189) notes that this taxon was introduced with the spelling "macandrei", despite Sowerby stated in the Thesaurus that the species was dredged by Mr. Macandrew in the Red Sea. Schilder & Schilder (1971) emended the spelling (although they used the emeded spelling before without justification). The emended spelling "macandrewi" is used widely by authors. [details]
