Taxonomic remark Sawyer (1986: 667) states "inadequately distinguished from Trulliobdella which as far as known it closely resembles". This is a strange remark by Sawyer as Trulliobdella Brinkman, 1947 is junior to Notobdella by some thirty years. Clearly Benham's name has priority, and Sawyer's comment should have been made under Trulliobdella with the names reversed. Benham had compared Notobdella to Trachelobdella, and intended the name to be provisional, pending further study [details]
