Checked: verified by a taxonomic editorSynonymy Hermella Savigny 1822 on p.81 was for the species represented by the synonymy (as in Savigny) of Tubularia arenosa anglica, Tubipora arenosa, Sabella alveolata, Amphitrite alveolata, Sabellaria alveolata, and Amphitrite ostrearia. Hermella was presumably present in Savigny's 1809 manuscript (as much used by his contemporaries), but this was not published until as revised in 1822, and with Lamarck's Sabellaria (1818) added (as synonym). Thus there is no doubt that Sabellaria is senior. [details]
