Taxonomic remark Bayoumy & Abd El-Monem (2011) recorded Lamellodiscus diplodicus from the gills of G. oyena from the Red Sea at Suez Gulf. In their account, they referenced that this species was previously detected in the gills of D. noct and Rhabdosargus haffara (Forsskål) from the Red Sea in an unpublished portion of a thesis (Bayoumy, 2003). They also erroneously claimed that this species had been previously studied by Ogawa & Egusa (1978), Amine & Euzet (2005), and Aquaro et al. (2009). Our requests to Prof. El-Sayed M. Bayoumy for his thesis or even copies of the original drawings for this species from the thesis were unsuccessful. Since the suggested name does not follow the rules of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN), this taxon is a nomen nudum, as proposed by Kritsky (2018). [details]
