Authority: (W. Wood, 1828) [details]
Distribution: It is not unlikely that fossil remains of two other Jujubinus species, Jujubinus exasperatus (Pennant, 1777) and Jujubinus striatus (Linnaeus, 1758), are washed ashore along the Belgian coast. [details]
Taxonomy: Fretter & Graham (1977) position Jujubinus montagui in the genus Cantharidus Montfort, 1810. According to McKay & Smith (1979), Cantharidus Montfort, 1810 comprises Indo-Pacific species only. As such, we follow Nordsieck (1968, 1973a) and McKay & Smith (1979) in the use of Jujubinus.
