Distribution: New Jersey to Florida to Texas [details]
Taxonomy: Some authors mention two subspecies: Ensis minor minor and Ensis minor subarcuatus Van Urk, 1964 (see Van Urk, 1964a, b; Janssen, 1975). Both species appear to be sympatric pointing towards to ecotype concept, such as Janson & Ward (1985) mentioned in his discussion on the status of Littorina tenebrosa . [details]
