Eight species of digenean trematodes of the families Waretrematidae, Haploporidae, Haplosplanchnidae and Hemiuridae are reported from mullets in Japanese and adjacent waters. Waretrema piscicolum and Hymenocotta mulli (from Crenimugil crenilabis) are new records from Japanese waters. Six new species are described. Carassotrema philippinense sp. nov. from the intestine of Mugil cephalus in Philippine waters most resembles C. megapharyngus but differs from it in having a weakly developed acetabulum, a prepharynx, short caeca, and genital pore median or submedian. Dicrogaster japonica sp. nov. from the intestine of M. cephalus in Japanese waters resembles D. contracta but differs from it in having a long tubular internal seminal vesicle which forms a ring in the hermaphroditic sac. Haploporus spinosus sp. nov. from the intestine of Crenimugil crenilabis in Japanese waters differs from other members of the genus in the caecal bifurcation posterior to the acetabulum, and the hermaphroditic duct armed with 4 long and 6 short spines. Haploporus magnisaccus sp. nov. from the intestine of C. crenilabis (type host) and M. cephalus (?) in Japanese and Indonesian waters, respectively, resembles H. spinosus but differs from it in the hermaphroditic duct with short, thick-walled diverticula instead of 4 long and 6 short spines. Lecithobotrys stomachicola sp. nov. from the gastric cardia of C. crenilabis (type host) and M. cephalus (?) in Japanese (type locality) and Indonesian waters L. stomachicola was found in various forms: caecum perfectly bifurcating without a stem; caecum bifurcating at the middle, with a short stem and branches; caecum not bifurcating, with 2 protuberances at the termination; caecum completely single, saccular. Hysterolecitha indonesiana sp. nov. from the stomach of M. cephalus (?) in Indonesian waters differs from all other members of the genus in having an acetabulum which possesses a muscular sphincter around the orifice, and a uterus lying in the forebody as well as the hindbody.
