Etymology The specific epithet rockinghamensis refers to the city of Rockingham (Western Australia), located not far from the type locality of the species. [details]
Habitat Amongst brown algae on erosion terrace, in shallow water. [details]
Synonymy To S. pharobroomensis (Hartmann-Schröder, 1979). Over a few years Hartmann-Schröder created several what are evidently similar Australian Typosyllis species. Licher (2000) synonymised some and then San Martin et al. (2024) synonymized them differently. As these are morphological subjective synonymies they may be unreliable, pending molecular data.
