Taxonomy Whitelegge (1902) re-examined some of Lendenfeld's types of Australian sponges. Among the specimens assigned to Antherochalina perforata, Whitelegge found that one (specimen no. 315) belonged to a different species, Endectyon frondosum, whereas specimen no. 292 conformed to Antherochalina perforata (=Clathria perforata). [details]
