Description Description: arm length up to 20 cm, disc diameter to 5 cm. Colour conspicuously green with yellow markings and dark-ringed white spots. Habitat: among coral bases and rubble.
General distribution: tropical, Indo-west-central Pacific Ocean, littoral waters (Rowe & Gates, 1995); WIO, Red Sea and W Pacific (Richmond, 1998).
Also distributed in Java in Ljungman (1866); Ceylon, Bay of Bengal, East Indies, north Australia, Philippine, China, south Japan and South Pacific Is. (Clark & Rowe, 1971); Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
Ecology: benthic, inshore (Rowe & Gates, 1995). [details]
