Taxonomic remark The identity, systematics and taxonomy of both of Proboscidactyla topica and P. stolonifera need to re-investigated. It is currently not clear if they are really synonyms and if so, which name has priority. Both are, however, as argued by Gershwin & Zeidler (2010) almost certainly not syonyms of the Altantic P. ornata which does not have medusa buds. [details]
