Diagnosis Test discoidal, with planispirally enrolled tubular chamber; wall thick, calcareous, microgranular, inner dark layer strong and continuous in all whorls and outer radially built layer only present laterally, producing an umbilical filling in all but the last one or two whorls, or may be weakly present between whorls in more evolute forms, chamber lumen remaining open.
