Specimens of the syllid polychaete Haplosyllis agelas new species were obtained from the sponge Agelas dispar, collected from coral heads near Grand Bahama Island. The new species differs from other members of the genus primarily in the shape of the setae and in its restriction, as currently known, to a single species of sponge from the Bahamas.
