Two new species of the genus Cossura from western Japan are described under the names of C. lepida and C. duplex. C. lepida closely resembles C. pygodactilata Jones, 1956 in the form of the pygidium; however, C. lepida differs from the latter in the number of peristomial segments and uniramous segments. C. duplex is unique in having biannulated anterior segments, three short anal cirri and flattened neurosetae with abrupt tapered tips.
