Authority Woodward (1871) referred to a publication by Conrad (1871), which, however, appeared two months later (4 April 1871) than his own (February 1871). Although parts of the description seem to be from Conrad (put under quotes), the initial diagnosis is from Woodward, making him the author of this taxon. [details]

Type locality Exact location uncertain: Woodward (1871) referred to material collected by Orton and others near "Pabos" [= Pebas, Peru] or "Cochaquinas" near Pichana [several kilometers downstream Pebas] [details]
