Remark In contast to the original description by Reig Oriol (1995, p. 22), the wall in the type material is parathecal and synapticulothecal (only parathecal according to Reig Oriol). In addition to other skeletal structures like pali that vary in number and shape, poorly developed costae, a well-developed spongy-papillose columella, vesicular endothecal dissepiments, conical-patellate shape of corallum, and the frequent merging of S4 septa with higher cycle septa, suggest that it is synonmyous with Palaeopsammia Wanner.
