Nomenclature Dentipora cribrosa and Dendrophyllia anastomozans were synonymized without priorty by Milne Edwards & Haime (1850), Priority was given to the first name under by Milne Edwards (1860). Monod (1954) synonymized both species under the latter name, but the first revisionary act in the earlier work by Milne Edwards (1860) has priority in this case and therefore the species should be called Dendrophyllia cribrosa. [details]
