Comparison Similar to and once combined with Peponocyathus, this genus differs in not having transverse division and having serrate costae. [details]

Diagnosis Corallum bowl-shaped, circular in cross section, up to 17 mm in GCD; theca imperforate; costae ridged and serrate, originating by trifurcation; septa hexamerally arranged in 4 cycles; P1-3 in 3 crowns; columella papillose. [details]

Remark This genus and family was monographed by Cairns (1997), which included a phylogenetic analysis based on morphology. Six species, including 2 Recent (Cairns, 1997). [details]
