From editor or global species database
Editor's comment D'Orbigny (1826) referred to the plate 132 figure gg in Soldani as a senior synonym of Polymorphina (Globuline) ovata. There is no figure gg on plate 132 and Parker et al. (1871) not knowing d'Orbigny's original drawing referred to Soldani's figure gg on plate 112. However the figure gg on plate 122 is far more similar with d'Orbigny's drawing. It also better fits with d’Orbigny’s diagnosis of the genus Globulina of three visible chambers. To be noticed, d'Orbigny referred to Soldani's figure "122 gg" with a question mark in his description of Pyrulina gutta but his own drawing given along a plaster model in 1826, differs a lot from Soldani's figure.
Furthermore Polymorphina (Globuline) ovata = Globulina ovata is neither an homonym nor a synonym of Polymorphina ovata, d'Orbigny, 1846. [details]
