Distribution Indian Ocean, Persian Gulf, Red Sea, Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. (Fauvel,1953). [details]Editor's comment Information for Hydroides norvegica will also be found under the masculine-form spelling of H. norvegicus as in this record. Hydroides norvegicus is strictly a lapsus although the circumstances are unusual. Hydroides norvegica as the original spelling again became the correct spelling effective from a Code change in 1999, even though H. norvegicus had been Code correct for about 40 years previously (further explanation is given in the Hydroides genus record and the H. norvegica record).
Distribution records actually for Hydroides elegans may have been recorded here as H. norvegicus. [details]
Habitat Deep sea occurrence seems unlikely, although a handful of OBIS records over 500 m exist. [details]
