"In the course of extensive meiofauna collections on the Mediterranean coast of Tunisia, a very small and hitherto unknown polychaete species was discovered at various localities on the western coast of the Bay of Tunis. It was found exclusively on the upper shoreline of fine sandy beaches at a depth of 5–15 cm. Data on the ecology and biology of Apharyngtus are still lacking."
