Description Oceanic species usually found in waters with surface temperatures ranging from 22° to 31°C. Water color affects the occurrence, at least in the northern Gulf of Mexico, where the fish show preference for blue water. Rarely gathers in schools and usually found as scattered single individuals in the open ocean. Feeds mainly on fishes but also preys on octopods and squids. [details]
