Taxonomy Pseudochalina was erected by Schmidt based on a specimen from the Copenhagen Museum of unknown origin. Apparently the specimen had a dictyoceratid skeleton but with possible haplosclerid affinity in the form of traces or remnants of spicules in the fibers (no proper spicules were described). It is possible that this is a Callyspongia or Dactylia, but without further data this cannot be ascertained. The genus name is a nomen nudum because no species was named. [details]
