Type material Ogawa et al. (2010) erroneously stated that type material of the present species was lost, but they were apparently unaware that Ijima returned some of the Siboga specimens to the Zoological Museum of Amsterdam, the original owner of the Siboga Porifera collections. A large part of the Siboga Hexactinellida specimens were retained by UMUTZ (cf. Ogawa et al.). [details]
