Type locality Lamarck (1815) did not know the origin of the type material, other than that it was part of the 'Stathouder' collection (i.e. the collection 'sequestered' from the Netherlands during Napoleontic times). The species has been reliably redescribed from Caribbean localities, so by inference the type must have been collected also from there. [details]
