Homonymy Haeckel (1870) already erected a taxon of the suprageneric level named Soleniscida. This is based on Soleniscus Haeckel, which is not congeneric with Soleniscus sensu Borojevic et al. 1990 (later renamed as Soleneiscidae), but with Soleniscus Haeckel, 1870, which is a junior synonym of Clathrina. Technically, Soleniscida would have priority over the family name Clathrinidae, but since it was not used after 1899, it should be suppressed as a nomen oblitum under ICZN art.23.9.1. This has to be done in print stating that Clathrinidae is a nomen protectum. [details]
