Nomenclature The ICZN used its plenary powers to confirm the proposal of Pisera & Lévi (2002) to designate Scleritoderma flabellifome Sollas, 1888 as type species of the genus Scleritoderma Schmidt, 1879, and to transfer the original type species Scleritoderma paccardi Schmidt, 1879 to Setidium obtectum Schmidt, 1879 as its junior synonym. The reason for the proposed transfer was presence of smooth strongyloxeas in S. paccardi and S. obtectum, whereas the other five species of Scleritoderma possess acanthorhabds. Erection of a new genus name for the latter five species was thus avoided. [details]Unreviewed
