From editor or global species database
Identification Hooper & Wiedenmayer (1994: 108) suspect that Von Lendenfeld originally intended to name Dactylochalina villosa Lendenfeld, 1887 (now assigned to Callyspongia) Dactylochalina massa, because the name D. villosa is lacking from the summary table of p. 756 and D. massa is lacking from the descriptive part of Dactylochalina, pp. 810–814. D. massa is currently considered a nomen nudum, but a specimen so labelled is present in the Natural History Museum, London, BMNH 1886.8.27.463).Further research is necessary to establish the true identity of the two names.  [details]
