Homonymy Gray (1867) erected the homonyms Pronax with type species Cliona lobata Hancock on p. 526 and Pronax with type species Spongia plumosa Montagu on p. 536. De Laubenfels (1936) suggested to replace the second Pronax by the genus name Grayax. The Nomenclator Zoologicus (http://ubio.org/NomenclatorZoologicus/) accepted this rather conditional and casual genus transfer as valid. [details]
