Classification This subfamily was erected for the genera Acanthascus, Rhabdocalyptus, and Staurocalyptus, then first abolished by Tabachnick (2002), who regarded the latter two genera as subgenera of Acanthascus (included in Rossellinae), then resurrected by Reiswig & Stone (2013), and finally abolished again by Tabachnick et al. (2023). [details]
