Authority As a nominal subfamily Johnston, 1865 remains the author, although Kirtley (1994) introduced the usage as a subfamily for genera not in his Lygdaminae [details]
Taxonomy Kirtley restricted Sabellariinae to Sabellaria, Neosabellaria, Phragmatopoma, Gunnarea, Paraidanthyrsus, and Idanthyrsus. It includes all Sabellariidae with three parathoracic segments.
