Spelling Unresolved. The feminine gender variant suffix spelling dates right back to Pruvot, 1895, accidental author of Pholoides. Pholoides should be masculine (fide Pettibone, 1992) but ICZN 4th edition, Art.30.1.4.4 may allow the feminine gender ending to remain. [details]
