Distribution Western Pacific Ocean: Luzón (Philippines); Atauro Island (East Timor); Lizard Island (Australia). [details]
Etymology "The specific name refers to its colouration, as maganda means “gorgeous and beautiful” in Tagalog. In addition to East Timor, this new species is also present in the Philippines where Tagalog is spoken. Therefore, it seems appropriate that the etymology of this new species has a meaning in this language" (Martínez & San Martín, 2020: 248). [details]
Habitat Amongst dead corals, as epibionts of hydrozoans, gorgonians (Siphonogorgia sp.), ascidians (Atriolum sp.), and green algae (Halimeda sp.), and also on the matrix of a branched coral with epiphyte algae and sponges, between 1-16 m depth. [details]
