Paraspirolina gigantea Fleury, 1997
Description Fleury, J.-J. (1997). 40(4): 297-311., available online at https://doi.org/10.1016/s0035-1598(97)90654-1page(s): p. 302, pl. 2, figs. 1-7 (holotype pl. 2 figs. 1-2).
Equatorial or nearly equatorial sections. All of them display the peculiar aspect of the spiral part, due to obliquity of the septa with respect to the radius; large discontinuity of septa in several sections reveals the single aperture (dendritic, at least in final chambers see Pl. 1, fig. 13-14). 1-2 : Holotype, overview and focus on final chambers to show the thin sub-epidermal partitions and the faint external ribs, only preserved where overlapped by successive chamber. 3 : The overall aspect is typical of the taxon, despite lack of any perceptible partition or rib. 4 : Only one partition can be seen in the last half-whorl; ribs are present in the last three chambers but only perceptible at direct microscopic observation. 5 : Section parallel to the equatorial plane showing partitions in the PRU and ribs in the chamber sutures of the spiral part. 6 : Almost centered section displaying a very large spiral part (doubtfully ascribable to a B test?). Partitions present in the last whorl but no ribs. 7 : Partitions obvious in the last chambers, but no ribs.
